Structural Drainage

INTRODUCTION

Control of water infiltration and providing adequate drainage are critical to the performance of substructures. Traditional practice specifies the use of a 300-600mm thick porous backfill with geotextile filter. ALFDRAIN geocomposites are more cost – and time-effective solutions with comparable or superior drainage capability to aggregate drainage layers.

ALFDRAIN high performance geocomposites are engineered to provide high water drainage capacity. Excellent compressive strength and resistance to creep ensures that it maintains its drainage capability under a wide range of compressive loads.

HORIZONTAL DRAINAGE UNDER MEDIUM LOADS

ALFDRAIN geocomposites are used horizontally below structures to provide lateral drainage.

HORIZONTAL DRAINAGE UNDER HEAVY STRUCTURES

Horizontal drainage underneath concrete tanks, tunnels, landfills, heapleach pads, etc., in order to drain water as well as relieve uplift hydraulic pressures.

High performance drainage composites with a crush resistant Biplanar and Triplanar core thermally laminated online onto a purpose designed filter fabric.

All net composites have a compressive strength >1500kPa and a service life durability in excess of 100 years

ALFDRAIN CAVITY FORMER

Cost-effective, efficient and easy way to install cavity for draining leaks and seepages in substructures and basements.

ALFDRAIN CAVITY FORMER separates the internal structure and finishes from the external structure. It can be installed between external and internal walls thereby providing an avenue for collecting seepages and dampness from the external wall and guides it to appropriate drainage channels and collection sumps.

ALFDRAIN CAVITY FORMER can also be installed under flooring in areas of high ground water table before installing tiles or any other finishing. The dimples are filled with mortar providing a smooth surface and a cavity between ground or substrate and floor finishing.

ALFDRAIN CAVITY FORMER qualifies as part of TYPE C waterproofing (Drained Protection) as per BS 8102:2009. It can also be part of combination waterproofing such as Type A and Type C or Type B and Type C waterproofing.
