LANDSCAPING

Terrains across the Middle East are exposed to extremely hot and arid climates that result in greater evaporation than precipitation.  Evaporation draws saline water to the surface from the water table below in a continually rising process generally referred to as “Capillary Suction”. At the surface the water evaporates leaving behind the salt content.

The presence of saline contents in these soils hampers healthy vegetative growth. One of the most cost-effective and proven methods of controlling the capillary rise of water is by introducing a capillary break between the subgrade and the topsoil.

Traditionally, a capillary break consisting of a coarse granular layer with a layer of geotextile was installed to arrest the rise of the saline groundwater.

ALYAFGEO SOLUTION

SALT BARRIER SB4-D285 is a contemporary innovative solution for creating capillary break layersconsists of a crush resistant HDPE net core which is heat laminated on both side to a heat treated nonwoven polypropylene geotextile. SALT BARRIER SB4-D285 is a high-performance capillary breaker which can prevent the salty ground water migrating to the vegetative soil layer.

ALFGUARD HD is a tough textured root barrier specially engineered to prevent root growth into pavement and utilities. ALFGUARD HD is manufactured from heavy weight High Density Polyethylene with 2% carbon black. The tough impermeable membrane stops roots growth and has unique textured profile guides the root back into the nutrient zone thereby retaining roots within intended zone.

ALFGUARD HD is available in 3 meters width which allows reduction of critical joints while being easily manageable. It is uniquely tough but flexible which helps in adjustment to contours of vegetated zone and facilitates installation.

ALFGUARD HD has higher puncture strength and tensile strength than typical root barriers due to special production technique, higher thickness and heavier weight of ALFGUARD HD root barrier.
